At position 9 out of 16, AFC can now heave a sigh of relieve albeit in the short term as the very competitive Kenya Premier League resumes in two weeks with tricky matches awaiting Ingwe. The winning goal was netted by Joseph Okumu in the 15th minute after a City Stars defensive lapse. AFC could have even scored more goals had Demonte Selenga put to good use the more than 3 scoring chances he wasted.Playing without dependable skipper Imbalambala and striker Itubu Imbem, AFC started the match on a high note taking the ball to the opponents who looked lethargic and uninspired.Due to a spate of poor performance, the numbers at the terracess had reduced considerably with only few ardent AFC fans providing the third player effect at the stadium. Even the ever present Isukutu drums stayed away until the second half, perhaps to register their disppleasure with the dip in form of Ingwe.AFC meets a determined Posta Rangers at City Stadium on 12th September before travelling to Afraha in Nakuru to face off with relegation threatened Red berets on 19th.
