Joash Amukayia, AFC Leopards elder and national branches coordinator is faulting the club Chairman for misleading the public about the operationalization of the new constitution and is threatening to mobilise members to pass a vote of no confidence in him. In a signed press release send to this website and several other media houses, Joash accuses Mr Ochiel of wanting to illegally extent his tenure in office for three years instead of the one year mandate he got in December 2009. "We are therefore calling on all branches for a meeting shortly to discuss Mr. Ochiel's conduct and make it clear that AFC Leopards Sports Club shall hold elections and AGM in December 2010 at Nyayo Stadium," said Amukayia in a statement. He also accusses the chairman of making many pledges when coming in office only to fail miserably to honour them. "He has even failed to pay for the playing ground and as a result AFC Leopards has been thrown out of the RTI grounds and from City Stadium for non payment of accomodation and playing ground. We cannot trust the leadership of Mr Ochiel as he has failed to prove himself for the 6 months he has been in office," said the statement. Mr. Amukayia also accuses the chairman for spending Kshs 20,000 every month for payment of a non-existent office, claiming that the purpotted AFC office belongs to a private research company with no connections to the management of a footbal club.Patched at position 10 out of 16 on the standing, AFC needs to put its house in order to avoid sucking leadership politics into the management of the club as that could adversely affect the performance of the playing unit.
