Calls for financial accountability are threatening to dominate the planned Special General Meeting at the expense of the law review, reliable sources have revealed to this reporter. The sources privy to the intrigues of the club have revealed a protracted cold war between two warring factions in the management of AFC Leopards Sports club that has been simmering since the moderately successful fundraiser where more than Kshs 3 million was raised. The main born of contention is lack of accountability of the club's finances, with the complaining faction led by a senior official accusing the other faction also led by another senior official of funds missappropriation. The faction on the receiving end is also being accused of not contributing any money to the welfare of the club but being on the forefront of spending the money without consulting the executive committee. The protracted murmurs of discontent have led to some key members of the playing unit seeking release from the club after complaints of non payment of 2 months salaries and arrears. Some key members of the technical bench are also up in arms with the accused faction that unsuccessfully tried to sack them. (Posted on 21/6/2010 by Ingwe Reporter)
