AFC Leopards for the uptenth times failed to utilize dozens of scoring changes coming their way to share spoils with the visiting Nairobi City Stars in a tense match at City Stadium on Sunday. The visitors snatched the lead in the first minute to put the Ingwe side into a state of confusion. It took Congolese import Itubu Imbem to restore parity in the 23rd minute through a successful penalty kick after Stars' defender had handled the ball in the box. But it was Ingwe's lack of purpose and committment in the second half that infuriated thousands of loyal fans who demanded for an immediate overhaul of the technical and management teams."The poor run of this team shows serious managerial problems that need to be addressed for AFC to prevail," lamented Steve Mungo, a diehard AFC fan. Fans were at a loss of words when dependable Imbalabala was fielded upfront instead of his usual stopper position, rendering him ineffective throughout the match. He had to be replaced in the second half after getting exhuasted chasing shadows. Upfront, Imbem and second half substitute Ekene Umekwe squandered more than six clear scoring chances to deny Ingwe its third win of the season. A host of fans were seen shouting "Makokha must go" at the end of the match claiming that there is serious lack of leardership in the team. Some inside sources claimed the existence of two line ups in the team with a set of players not coping with another set. The unsatisfactory run continued only days after AFC had received a 3 million cash boost from a fundraiser in a Nairobi hotel presided over by national speaker, Hon Kenneth Marende. While speaking at the same function, Hon Were called upon the leadership of the club to exercise prudent management and accountability of funds to steer the club to prosperity.
