AFC Leopards squandered its 3-1 first round advantage to go down 3-0 againsts Banks of Ethiopia in the CAF Cup return match in Addis Ababa on Sunday. The walloping and bundling out from the continental championship was not a shocker as the club spent most of the preparatory time squabbling over the roles of the bloated technical bench members and the unfunding of the air tickets to Addis Ababa. The fact that all the three Banks' goals came in the last ten minutes of the match shows how lack of concentration is a major factor with the youthful ineperienced side that was denied the services of five seasoned foreign players due to lack of travelling documents. Ingwe only needed a draw of any sorts or a 1-0 lose to proceed to the next stage. Leopards Head coach Chris Makokha now needs to psyche his boys to take on the big boys in the ongoing KPL league with the next match scheduled for Sunday 7th March at Nyayo against Thika United. " Anything less than a win will be disastrous for the club," said an expectant fan. AFC started the league on a loosing note a couple of weeks ago against KCB and will need to sharpen its attacking force to prevail against the cash rich Thika United.(Posted on 1/03/2010 by Raba D'CruZ)
