AFC Leopards in Mombasa

AFC Leopards left for Mombasa on Saturday as part of the new season and CAF championship buildup. The full squad under the watchfull eye of coach Nick Yakhama arrived at the coastal city at 6PM and was well received by Mombasa branch chairman Maurice Amahwa together with members of his vibrant branch. The team will be undertaking intensive training sessions at Mombasa municipal stadium twice a day and scheduled to meet the nationwide bound Congo United in a friendly match at the same venue on Monday 4PM."The boys are in high spirits and we will use the friendly match to test our preparedness," he said. Mr Amahwa thanked the Interin Management Board for moving in fast to rescue the team from the jaws of dangerous political detractors and vowed to continue growing the Mombasa branch to formidable levels. Leopards are expected back in Nairobi midweek in readiness for the international friendly against Uganda Revenue Authority on Sunday 24th January at City Stadium at 4PM.(posted on 17/01/2010)
