
AFC Leopards started its pre-season tour in Western Kenya on a winning note by thrashing visiting Uganda Express 2-0 in a thrilling encounter at Bukhungu Stadium. The action packed match was watched by over five thousands Isukuti dancing boisterous fans of Ingwe who had travelled from as far as Busia and Bungoma. The first goal was netted by youthful midfielder Tom Wango in the 30th minute to put the FKL champions one up by half time. Prolific striker and Harambee Stars trialist Denis Mukaisi completed the rout in the 70th minute to send bewildered Ingwe fans into a frenzy.The international friendly gave coach Nick Yakhama a perfect opportunity to try out three of his new signings with the former Agrochemical central defender Isreali David providing the much needed stability at the back.As a unit, Leopards showed a lot of character displaying sexy football that excited fans who were kept on their toes throughout the match. The friendly was organised by Uganda's Soccer International owned by Sammy Sakadga. Uganda Express had played Gor mahia FC on Saturday in Kisumu losing 1-0 to the homeside. AFC used the match to prepare itself for the continental challenge starting in February 2010 against Banks of Ethiopia in Nairobi.
