Want to reactivate or form a branch? Then you have upto the 31st of December 2009 to do the same as the process will be closed by the end of the year. The deadline has been set to allow branch network activities take centre stage during the off-season but allow the compliant branches to consolidate as the league resumes early next year. AFC Secretary General Richard Ekhalie said that branches that will not meet the deadline will have to wait until reactivation is opened by end of next year."But members will have the option to join existing branches near them," he said. Mr. Ekhalie revealed that only registered members who will have maintained the status for three months prior will participate in a general or special meeting."This is aimed at locking out speculators who rush to register as members moments before the AGM for financial gains," he said. The branch reactivation/formation program aims at registering 20 branches by end year. Each branch has been given a target of recruiting not less than 50 members by end year to continue enjoying the status. Branches that will not have achieved the target will be merged or de-listed. A total of seven branches have been registered so far.(posted on 25/11)
