Kibera Branch Gets the Nod

It's Kibera time as the branch joins the fast growing number of AFC Leopards branches to reactivate. The branch got the nod after meeting the minimum requirements of Kshs 10,000 registration fee and ten members, bringing the total number of compliant branches to seven. Kibera Branch is the third branch in Nairobi after Mlango Kubwa and Kawangware. Others countrywide are Emuhaya, Mombasa, Nakuru and Kakamega.The interim chairman of the branch is Dr John Opeli with Angonya turning in as Secretary General.  The treasurer Nassur Hassan while receiving the certificate from the national Secretary General Richard Ekhalie confirmed the branch's committment to recruit as many as 100 members by the end of the year. Other members are Patrick Ayisi, Caleb Elijah, Jacob Makhosa, Abwao Shikuku, Jayne Mulanda, Musa Misiko and Mathew Ndia."The branch is now free to conduct branch matters including holding meetings and collecting membership fees on behalf of the club," said Ekhalie as he congratulated the officials for taking leadership.Mr Ekhalie warned unscrupulous people from purporting to conduct any club business without authority from the national office. He said that it is only the seven registered branches that are recognized by the office and anyone cheating wananchi to be conducting club business will be dealt with according to the laws of the nation. Only official membership receipt books from the office should be used to register members.(posted on 25/11)
