
FKL champions AFC Leopards secured the much precious point in a nil all draw to exorcise the relegation ghost that has hoovered around them for the better part of the season. The point was sentimental, heartbreaking and soothing to the thousands of passionate Ingwe fans who have walked with their favorite team all the way from the season opener at Hope centre todate. The hard fighting players hugged each other to heave a sigh of releave after the final whistle went off with others saying a prayer to the almighty for sparing them the embassment of relegation. Even the club chairman Alex Magelo who made a triumphant entrance into Nyayo Stadium minutes before halftime made a quick dash to the pitch to congratulate his boys. The Isukuti beats did the usual round and lap to acknowledge the feat with boisterous fans in toe. Coach Nick Yakhama congratulated his boys but said that there is no time to celebrate as he wants to embark on a serious recruitment drive to revamp his squad in preparation for the next season and continental championship. "I will not dismantle the squad but re-energize it with five to ten players in all departments," he revealed. AFC has now left the relegation battle to Red Berets, Agro Chemicala and Bandari who must compete for the only remaining one slot out of danger.
