AFC Arrests Red Berets
AFC Leopards moved inches closer to erasing relegation threats after crashing Red Berets 2-1 in an entertaining match at City Stadium on Saturday. Leopards first goal was netted in the 30th minute by Congolese import Imbem Itubu in a classic individual effort. Super Sub James Kombo aka Junior killed the game in the 77th minute when he headed home a corner kick to make it two nil. But as has become the norm with Ingwe's backline, lack of concentration saved face for the Berets when they were awarded a last minute penalty due to unfair play by Robert Indimuli which was converted. The important win assured Leopards maximum three points bringing their tally to 30 with two matches to go. Their closest rival is Red Berets with 27 points followed by the two relegation candidates of Bandari 26 and Agro Chemicals 23. AFC Leopards plays Sony Sugar on Saturday at Nyayo before winding up the season at Muhoroni against Agro Chemicals on 21 st November. (report on 2nd Nov)
