Francis Atwoli Donates Kshs 100,000

Francis Atwoli has joined the few Western Kenya prominent people who have reached out to the management of AFC Leopards with a helping hand.The fiery trade unionist stomped in with Kshs 100,000 to sponsor the team's weekly training budget and camping budget prior to the crucial tie against Thika United on Saturday 24th at City Stadium from 1PM. While handing over the donation to treasurer Duncan Angode, Atwoli emphasized the need of able true supporters of the club from any part of the country to come out and be part of the solution instead of just critizing the club from the periphery. "This is a great club with a great history which we must all guard jelously," he noted. He said that he should be relied upon anytime when the club is in dire need.Others who have once or twice chiped in at their own leasure and pleasure are Hon Alfred Sambu and Eugene Wamalwa.With an annual budget of Kshs 16 million, AFC Leopards relies on well wishers and supporters to fund its operations with the club chairman Alex Magelo soldiering the heaviest burden. The Kshs 2.1 million given by Super Sport for the annual broadcasting rights is just a drop in the ocean capable of mitigatating the club's budgetory obligations for one and half months only.(report on 23rd Oct)
