Ingwe Gifts Chemelil FC
AFC Leopards squandered several scoring chances including a penalty kick to go down one nil to Chemelil FC at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday 17th October 2009. The visitors goal came in the 77th minute through Victor Alloyce after a costly defensive error that mis-footed Leopards goal keeper Victor Omondi. Leopard's strikers Obadiah Ndege and Imbem Itubu had wasted several scoring chances in the first half before Thomas Biketi gifted Chemelil's goalkeeper with a feeble penalty kick in the 40th minute. The wasted penalty now makes the total number of penalty kicks wasted by Leopards this season to five, so far the highest in the premier league. It also raises eyebrows on the technical bench's ability to impart set piece tactics to the team, not forgetting the players commitment to securing crucial points to stay clear of relegation zone. At 26 points with only four matches to spare this season, Leopards are patched at position 14 out of 16 teams. The last two teams on the final standing table will give way for two other teams to be promoted from Nationwide league. Leopards must win at least two more matches to stay afloat.
