AFC Youth Academy Overwhelms Lucky Boys

AFC Youth Academy produced a sterling performance on Saturday 3rd October to beat Kibera Lucky Boys one to nil in their maiden friendly at the national stage. The confident and stlyish under forteen got their goal in the dying minutes of the first half through the match maker striker Joshua otieno. The offensive left forward dribbled the ball past the beaten lucky Boys defence and tapped the ball into the far end of the net to send bewildered AFC fans into celebrations. The match was the first curtain raisers for the senior team at City Stadium where Ingwe later demolished Nyeri Stima two goals to one to clinch a place in the coveted FKL cup finals. The junior team was assembled three months ago and trains every weekend at the Ikulu grounds. The coach Keffa Aswani was all smiles as he heaped praise on his youthfull side for a job well done. "Iam totally impressed by their determination and the sky is the limit for the boys," he said. AFC Secretary General Richard Ekhalie who has been instrumental in assembling the under fourteen side said that the youthful team will be a force to reckon with in the near future. "This is the future of Leopards and will provide unparalled talent to our senior team," he said.(report on 4th October)
