Ingwe Disunites Mathare

AFC Leopards clawed Mathare United two goals to one in an entertainment match at the Nyayo National Stadium, which was regrettably punctuated by loud complaints from Leopards ardent fans of biased officiating. The very important win was sweet revenge for Ingwe who had gone one down to the defending champions during the first half season after a media spat pitying the two sides. The very deserved win now elevates Leopards to safer grounds increasing chances of catching up with the top ten teams.Leopard's first goal came in the 32nd minute when Congolese import Laurent Tumba slotted in a quick goal after beating Mathare defence to ignite wide celebrations by thousands of Isukuti dancing Ingwe fans who had thronged the stadium. Mathare however managed an equaliser at the stroke of halftime due to a defensive error. The reselient Leopards players continued to exert preasure throughout the second half with their efforts being rewarded at the last minute of the match when the dangerous Tumba was manhandled in the box. Thomas Biket did not make any mistake when he tactically netted in the ball as the beaten United goal keeper dived in the opposite direction. The winner as expected sent the passionate Ingwe fans into a frenzy as they danced round the stadium before matching to the city centre for the whole world to see. Back to poor officiating, the once celebrated lady referee Damaris Kimani did not live up to her billying by making questionable judgment mostly favouring Mathare United side. She for instance turned a blind eye on Simon Mulama when he tackled Leopards Laurent Tumba dangerous from behind. But the AFC fans who had bayed for her blood earlier on gave her a safe exit at the end of the match after securing the maximum three points. Leopards coach Nick Yakhama congratulated his side but warned against complacency. "We do not only need to avoid relegation but also to finish the league in a respectable position," he said.He said that his side is determined to win all the remaining five matches.(report on 27th Sep)
