Branch Reactivation Hots Up
AFC Leopards members branch activatation program relaunced early this year has now picked up with two more branches joining Mombasa branch to meet their obligations.Whereas Nakuru branch recativated itself on 19th September after the Ulinzi match, the Emuhaya branch became compliant on Monday the 21st of September when the interim chairman, Tony Kweya popularly known as Bishop paid up the mandatory Kshs 10,000 branch registration fee. In Nakuru, the elected branch chairman Joseph Tai made the payment on behalf of members thus getting the official nod to conduct branch matters in line with the provisions of the club. He was fanked by vice chairman Maurice Wekesa and secretary James Andanje. While receiving the Kshs 10,000 fee, AFC Leopards national Secretary General Richard Ekhalie urged the branch officials to go all out to recruit more members in Nakuru and make the rift valley branch one of the most vibrant branch of the club. In Emuhaya where he received the fee from Bishop, Ekhalie challenged the branch to bid for hosting the club in December during the planned pre-season tour of western Kenya."You have what it takes to host the club and facilitate a friendly match against Luanda All Stars which is turning up in the nationwide league" he said. The chairman revealed that the branch has planned a mobilisation meeting on 10th October at Aska de Place in Kima. The registration of the two member branches brings the total number of official branches to three countrywide. Mlango Kubwa branch, the only branch in Nairobi threatening to register, has made part payment and has announced the 4th of October as the DDay for their process completion at City Stadium during the KFF quarter finals against Nairobi Stima. "We will pay up the balance and relaunch our branch" said Ibrahim Musine, an interim official of the branch. The other branch threatening to re activate is Alabama branch of Kenyatta market in Nairobi whose interim officials paid a courtesy call to the club's training ground on 24th September.The branch pledged to pay players Kshs 20,000 for every win of all the remaining six matches. Dr Antony Walela, one of the interim officials promised to pay up the Kshs 10,000 for the branch registration next week. He also donated Kshs 5,000 for the players lunch and called upon all Ingwe fans to start contributing to the welfare of the club instead of just critising it.
