AFC Outsources Ticket Services
The just concluded super sunday double header pitying AFC Leopards against Sher Karuturi and Gor Mahia against Sofapaka lived up to its top billying in many ways, including in the money matters where it put an impressive Kshs 250,000 each in the bank accounts of hosts Ingwe and Kogalo after costs. The feat was achieved after the home teams outsourced Ticket Masters, a local ticket service company, to man the gates at the double header at Nyayo Stadium, realizing a gross gate collection of Kshs 700,000. Other beneficiaries of the ticket revenues were Nyayo Stadium that took home 15% of the gross and Ticket Masters who went with 10% management fees. Not to be left behind in the party were cops who provided security, Stadia clerks, ambulance and ball boys who claimed a total of 5% of gross income. While commenting on the performance of the ticketing company, AFC treasurer said that the arrangement has reduced the preasure on the club and helped reduce on loss of revenue that had bedevelled the club for a long time. "We are impressed with the collections and can only hope for the better in the future games" he said. The club has been collecting less than Kshs 100,000 in previous matches and hopes to enter into a contractual agreement with the ticketing company soon. A total of 6,000 people attended the match paying Kshs 100 for terracess and Kshs 200 for main stand. The money was immediately channelled into the player salary vault with the 30 players taking home a share of the bounty.(report on 16th Sep)
