Ingwe goes down to Sher Karuturi
Sunday the 13th September was a sad day for Leopards as Kenya's most decorated club went down one nil to a physical Sher Karuturi side at home despite dominating the match most of the time of play. The playing unit showed no sign of committment nor agency to score despite getting several scoring chances, to the amazement of the thousands of ardent fans who thronged Nyayo Stadium to cheer their favorite team. Captain Charles Okwemba added salt to injury by throwing away a penalty in the 30th minute, the second in a row. Even striker Obadia Ndege who was hanging in the wings after the lousy kick, hit wide as if he was clearing the ball from danger. Ingwe's lack of purpose and committment was punished in the 80th minute by Sher's Allan Atundo who utilized a no chance to scrap in a harmless ball that would have been cleared by skipper Robert Indimuli who instead watched the ball cross the line. The poor showing now places Leopards at position 15 in the standing only ahead of Bandari. Ingwe now must win four of the remaining seven matches to avoid relegation. Next match is on Saturday 19th at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru at 3PM. (report on 15th Sep)
