Ingwe Whip KCB

It seems like the surge forward for AFC Leopards is unstoppable as the former giants thrashed KCB three goals to one in an exciting action packed match at City stadium Nairobi. Being the first competitive match to be played at the renovated artificial tuft at city, the encounter was the first Leopards successive win after flowing bitter arch rivals Gor Mahia last weekend at Nyayo. The match opener came in the third minute of second half when captain Okwemba slotted in a penalty kick after a KCB defender handled the ball inside the box. Frankline Obare was on spot three minutes later when he headed home a fine cross from Okwemba to send Ingwe fans into exctasy. KCB's rattled midfield outfit regouped in the 78th minute to save face by netting in one but their hopes were to be dashed five minutes later when the Ingwe's super sub James Kombo aka Junior headed home the third goal from another Okwemba cross to kill the game. The confident Leopards side then staged one of their best displays ever by exhibiting clinical passes and sumptious runs on the flanks to give the bankers a true run for their money. On the terraces, the packed crowd mainly of AFC Leopards ardent supporters danced to Isukuti beats that did rounds non stop."Other premier league clubs should thank Leopards for boosting their revenues through good gate collections" remarked a KPL official who attended the match. He was reffering to the "kill" KCB was going to make as a home team from the more than 8000 AFC fans who had thronged the stadium. The win now puts AFC at a safer heaven way below the relegation mark and are looking forward to entering the under ten club next week when they host Nairobi City Stars at Nyayo in another crunch match.(report on 16th August)
