AFC top management meets team and fans
AFC top management led by the club Chairman Alex Ole Magelo held a consultative meeting with the playing unit, technical bench and fans at the Ikulu training grounds today 27th July as a postmortem of the previous two matches where Ingwe has taken in seven goals against one. Alot transpired but it was well that ended well. Fans promised to stand behind the office and playing/technical team in this trying times. The technical/playing units promised to deliver results starting the next match against bitter arch rivals Gor Mahia on 8th August 2009 at Nyayo Stadium. " Lets put the bad results behind us and concentrate on the remaining eleven matches" said the team captain Charles Okwemba who had a lengthy soul searching meeting with his team. Coach Nick Yakhama said the time to talk is gone and it's the time to treat every remaining match as a final.Talking on behalf of fans who thronged the training ground, AFC Leopards goodwill ambassador Papa Shirandula asked ardent fans to protect the office and players from detractors masquerading as fans with ill motives. "This is the time for us to stop side shows and rally behind the office and team if we want to prevail" he said. He urged the current active officials to be strong and continue steering the team to success. He said that the coming AGM should be used to fill dormant positions and not to replace active officials who have sacrificed their time and funds to put the team where it is.Present at the meeting was club secretary Richard Ekhalie and treasurer Duncan Angode. Chairman Magelo said he was humbled by the solidarity and promised to reconsider his earlier intention of calling it quits. "There is no better comeback present you can give the office and 6 million fans other than a win against our bitter arch rivals on 8th August" he said to attentive players.(report on 27th July).
