AFC through to quarter finals in FKL Cup

AFC Leopards is the first team in the ongoing FKL Cup to qualify for quarter finals and are likely to meet their age long arch rivals Go Mahia FC who however have to pass through their opponent on the weekend of 25th July 2009. Apart from AFC and Gor, seven other clubs mainly from the lower leagues are participating in this years FKL cup formerly known as Moi Golden cup or the Presidents Cup, including Posta Rangers, mahakama and Kenya Revenue Authority. AFC previious encounter was against Nyeri Stima who they pipped one nil to qualify for the next round. However, the opponents for the second and third rounds have chickened out giving Ingwe a through pass to quarters. The winners of FKL Cup will represent the country in continental championship next year. AFC is the most successful club in Kenya in FKL championship having won the title a record six times.
