Ingwe humbles Western Stima to collect 3 points

It was sweet revenge for AFC Leopards to beat Western Stima FC three goals to two in Saturdays KPL second leg match to revive hopes of staying put in top flight football. Under the recently appointed technical bench headed by National team assistant coach Twahi Mihiddin as technical director, Ingwe's playing unit played with more purpose than they have done in previous encounters. The recently revamped squad showed class and self believe by coming from behind to snatch an equaliser in the 20th minute through the come back kid Frankline Obare. The former Tuster FC prolific striker and international Obare was not yet done and would torment the visiting side in the 35th minuted by sneaking in his second goal to put the homeside firmly in the driving seat. The passionate and boisterous Ingwe fans could not resist doing a Isukuti lap of honour during the halftime session as a battery of Sports reporters clicked their cameras. Momenets after the begining of second half, Muhiddin made quite effective changes by bringing in James Kombo aka Junior and Gideon Asudzi for Laurent Tumba and Captain Charles Okwemba who had succumbed to a painful ankle injury. Although Western Stima equalised in the mid of the second half, Ingwe's substitute Asudzi popularly know as Pidges was right on target in the 80th minute to seal the fate of Western Stima. Unlike Ingwe's side that did duty against Bandari last week, Muhidins line up blended well and played with a lot of confidence. He employed the attacking 4-4-2 formation that saw the packed midfiled suply enough balls to the hungry striking force of Obare and Dennis Mukaisi. The man of the match was captain Okwemba who controlled and held the ball quite effectively in the midfiled releasing it when most ideal for the strikers to strike. He combined well with veteran Francis Xavier who has redsicovered his form. AFC plays Tusker FC next Saturday at Kasarani Stadium at 3PM.(report on 12th July 2009)
