AFC replaces seventeen players

AFC has dropped seventeen players and recruited eighteen in readiness for the second leg kicking off on 4th July. Among the notable recruits are the sensational congolese Itubu Imbem and Laurent Tumba who have been brought in to beef up the striking force and the midfield respectively. Others on the experience side are Antonny Lutiku (formerly Sher Karuturi), Zadock Shaaban (formerly AFC), Wilberforce Kilibwa, Byrum Miheso (USA) and Frankline Obare (formerly Tusker FC).A youthful crop of talented players from schools in Western Kenya and lower leagues have also been signed to provide pace and innovation, including Barnabus Tiema (goalie), Antonny Lutiku, Gregory Nyapala, Moses Chitiku and Kevin Shigogoti-all in defence. Others in this category are Gerrison Likono( midfield), James Kombo aka Junior (striker), Gedion Asudzi aka Pidges (Striker), Boniface Luchitio (striker) and Jacob Mulamba (striker). The retained AFC players are Teddy Okumba, Arthur Weyula (Kings), Collins Kisuya (Collo), Hamphrey Oyando, Charles Okwemba, Francis Xavier, Dennis Mukaisi, Tom Wango and Ekene Umekwe. Making the announcement, AFC technical bench comprising among others coach Edward Manoah and TM Tony Lidonde said that their choices have been informed by various factors including current form, consistence, discipline, attitude and potential.
