AFC Under-13 Kicks Off

The much anticipated AFC Leopards Under- 13 program started in earnest on Saturday 16th May at the club's training pitch at State House grounds, State House road Kilimani. The initial intake of 18 students between the ages of 9 and 13 took to the pitch with determination under the watchful eye of their coach Aswani who has more than eight years experience in youth football training having turned up for Ligi Ndogo, Ujuzi academy and Aghakan academy. The Saturday only program targets talented but under priviledged youths in the said age bracket on scholarship and self funding soccer loving youths in the same age bracket from Nairobi and environs. Charges for self funding program is Kshs 5,000 per month payable before admission. Participating kids are dropped at the grounds on Saturdays at 9am and picked at 12 noon by the parents/guardians. Present at the inaugural training session, Harambee Stars coach Twahir Muhiddin congratulated the 18 students for making the cut and urged them to take the program seriously in order to benefit from the sport. " I can assure you of a place in the national team a few years from now if you continue with the same spirit", he said. AFC's goodwill ambassaddeur Charles Bukeko popularly known as Papa Shirandula and AFC Leopards current coach Edward Manoah also congratulated the boys for making the cut and told them to aim at turning up for Ingwe in the near future. Inquiries for intake can be directed to Richard at 0721 275 735.
